Messi wins League Cup on penalty shootout over Nashville In Inter Miami
Quite the match. What an ending. What a run for Inter Miami and Lionel Messi.
On Saturday night in Nashville, Inter Miami defeated Nashville 10-9 in a penalty shootout
to break a 1-1 deadlock in the Leagues Cup final.Messi has played in seven games for Miami and the MLS.
Messi also assisted Inter Miami, which joined the MLS in 2020, in capturing its first championship.
The Leagues Cup final, however, was fiercely contested."It's a great honor to have helped us achieve ,
our first-ever finals victory. Drake Callendar, the Inter Miami goalkeeper, remarked on Apple TV after the game,
"It's kind of odd and emotional.Messi, who scored 10 goals in his first game for Inter Miami,
was named the League's Cup's top scorer and best player, while Callendar was named the competition's best goalie.
